In this episode, we hear from Dr. Gail Herman as we discuss her oral history project with western Maryland coal miners called Coal Talk. Thirty seven interviews were completed. This episode includes audio clips of the miners from a few of those interviews. The episode shares the stories of coal miners but also looks at the cost of working in a coal mine in terms of accidents and other health risks.
